Dubai is a city that asks to be seen twice, once from the high glass of its towers, and once from the worn wood of an abra crossing the Creek. We have designed this five-day journey for the way our travellers travel now: short distances between sights, late mornings when the body wants them, and an Indian table waiting at the close of each day. The Burj sits on the itinerary, of course. So does the spice souk, the sand at sunset, and a quiet hour inside a mosque. What sits between them is what matters most, the time to arrive, slowly, at a city that often insists on speed.

Highlights

What this journey holds for you

  • Burj Khalifa observation deck, by lift, unhurried

  • Gold and spice souks, browsed in our own time
  • A quiet visitor hour inside a Dubai mosque
  • Desert sunset, lantern dinner and cultural show
  • Dubai Mall fountains and aquarium window
  • Marina and Palm Jumeirah by coach
  • Indian meals at every lunch and dinner included

The Itinerary

5 days, day by day.

  1. Day One

Delhi to Dubai, the soft arrival

    Dubai  ·  Dinner only

We gather at Delhi airport with our tour manager and fly together to Dubai, a short crossing of the Arabian Sea. On arrival, a coach waits to take the group to a vetted 4-star hotel where rooms are ready and unhurried. The evening is left deliberately quiet, a chance to unpack, to rest, to find the lobby. Dinner is served at an Indian restaurant nearby, the first meal of the journey shared at one table.

  2. Day Two

The high view and the long mall

Dubai  ·  Breakfast, lunch & dinner

After a slow breakfast, we drive to the Burj Khalifa and take the lift to the observation deck. The city unrolls below in a long, pale grid. Back on the ground, lunch is served at an Indian restaurant inside Dubai Mall, followed by gentle time at the aquarium window and the dancing fountains. Seats are easy to find, distances are short, and our guide keeps the pace considered. Dinner is Indian, again, close to the hotel.

  3. Day Three

Old Dubai, by water and lane

Dubai  ·  Breakfast, lunch & dinner

We spend the day in the older quarter. A short, shaded walk through Bastakiya's wind-tower lanes, then a wooden abra across Dubai Creek, a one-dirham crossing that has not changed in decades. The gold souk and spice souk follow, browsed slowly. We pause for an Indian lunch nearby. In the afternoon we visit a mosque open to visitors, where shoes are removed and conversation softens. Dinner is at an Indian restaurant, then back to the hotel.

  4. Day Four

Sand at sunset, the gentle way

    Dubai  ·  Breakfast & dinner

The morning is yours to keep slow. In the late afternoon we drive out to the desert for an evening built for those who prefer the calm of it, sunset over the dunes, a seated camel photograph if you wish, and a long dinner under lanterns with a cultural show of music and dance. Dune-bashing is offered only to those who want it; the rest of us stay with the quieter pleasures. Indian-friendly fare features on the menu.

  5. Day Five

Marina, Palm, and the flight home

Dubai to Delhi  ·  Breakfast & lunch

A final morning drive takes us along Dubai Marina and across the frond of Palm Jumeirah, with photo stops where the views are best and the walking minimal. We share a last Indian lunch together, return to the hotel for the rooms held until departure, and transfer to the airport in good time. Our tour manager flies back with the group to Delhi, where the journey quietly ends as it began.
