A Journey We Offer · Southeast Asia
Indonesia,
Bali, *the slow way*, temples, terraces, and time.
Bali rewards a slower pace. The island has long been written about in superlatives, but we are less interested in spectacle than in atmosphere, the soft green of a terrace at first light, the careful unfolding of a temple ceremony, the quiet hour between sea and supper. We have designed this six-day journey for the way our travellers travel now. Mornings begin gently. Walks are short. Hotels sit close to the things worth seeing. We split our days between Ubud, where the island keeps its older rhythms, and the southern coast, where the sea does the talking. A tour manager flies with the group from Delhi and stays *Delhi to Delhi*. Indian meals are arranged at every stop. Nothing is rushed.

The Itinerary
6 days, day by day.
- Day One
Delhi to Denpasar, and into the green of Ubud
Ubud · Dinner
We gather at Delhi airport in the evening and fly together to Bali, our tour manager travelling with the group. On arrival at Denpasar, a private coach takes us north to Ubud, the island's quiet cultural heart. Rooms at our vetted 4-star resort are ready when we are. Dinner is served at an Indian restaurant close by, something warm, something familiar, after a long crossing. We rest early. Bali will be there in the morning.
- Day Two
Rice terraces, gentle villages, *almost embarrassingly simple*
Ubud · Breakfast, lunch & dinner
A late breakfast at the resort, then a soft introduction to Ubud. We visit the Tegalalang rice terraces from a comfortable viewing point, no climbing, no scrambling, and watch the light move across the green. A local English-speaking guide walks us through an art village or two, with a chair never far away. Lunch and dinner are at Indian restaurants the team has chosen carefully. The afternoon stays unhurried. There is time, *in your own time*, simply to sit.
- Day Three
A temple morning, a spa afternoon
Ubud · Breakfast, lunch & dinner
We begin with a gentle visit to one of Ubud's water temples, accompanied by our guide, who explains the small daily offerings you will have seen everywhere. The walking is brief and shaded. After an Indian lunch, the afternoon belongs to the resort spa, a relaxed Balinese massage included for each traveller. There is no agenda after that. Dinner is set at a quiet Indian restaurant. Some of our travellers turn in early. The garden lights are reason enough to linger.
- Day Four
South to the sea, by way of Tanah Lot
Nusa Dua · Breakfast, lunch & dinner
We leave Ubud after a slow breakfast and travel south, stopping at Tanah Lot, the sea-temple set on its small rocky outcrop, at a time of day when the crowds have thinned. Photographs are easier here than the stories suggest. Lunch is at an Indian restaurant en route. By late afternoon we arrive at our beachside 4-star resort in Nusa Dua, where rooms face the garden or the sea. Dinner is in. The waves are nearby.
- Day Five
Uluwatu at sundown, and the kecak chant
Nusa Dua · Breakfast, lunch & dinner
A free morning by the resort pool or on the beach, many of our travellers do nothing more than this, and that is the point. After an Indian lunch, we drive to Uluwatu, where a cliff-edge temple stands above the Indian Ocean. Seats are reserved for us at the kecak performance, the chant rising as the sun goes down. The walk to the seats is short and assisted. Dinner follows at an Indian restaurant on the way back.
- Day Six
A last morning by the sea, and home
Nusa Dua to Delhi · Breakfast
The last morning is kept deliberately empty. Breakfast runs late at the resort. Some walk the beach a final time; others pack slowly. In the afternoon we transfer together to Denpasar airport with our tour manager and board our flight back to Delhi, arriving home with the small, settled feeling of a journey that did not ask too much of us. *A quieter kind of arrival*, which is, we think, the point.
